General
- The following rules apply solely to online and mobile bets which are placed via Paddy Power on greyhound racing. Separate rules apply to bets which are placed in Paddy Power's shops (i.e. Paddy Power's retail estate).
- For commercial reasons, Paddy Power may exclude selected customers from receiving various promotions , such exclusion which shall be communicated by email or otherwise
- Greyhound names are displayed on Paddy Power's website for information purposes only and all bets will be settled on the basis of the trap numbers on which bets are placed.
- Where a 'no race' is declared, all bets will be voided unless the 're-run' race takes place on the same day (in which case all original bets will stand).
- All bets will be settled on the basis of the official result declared on the day of the relevant race. If the official result is retrospectively changed, Paddy Power will not resettle the applicable markets.
- In the event that no starting prices are returned for an individual race, all bets on that race will be declared void.
- Where a greyhound is withdrawn from a race or replaced by an alternative (e.g. reserve) greyhound, all early price bets which were placed on the remaining greyhounds before the withdrawal or replacement will be settled at those greyhounds' starting prices (while all bets placed following a withdrawal or replacement will be settled at the relevant greyhounds' early prices).
- Each way starting price bets will be accepted for unnamed favourites. All unnamed second favourites are win only and, therefore, no each way betting is available for them.
- In races where there are less than six runners, all Top 3 market bets will be void.
- In races where there are less than six runners, all Betting W/O market bets will be void.
- In races where there are less than six runners, all Winning Distance market bets will be void.
Maximum Payouts
- Future Greyhounds bets on greyhound racing are subject to a maximum payment of £50,000. The only exception to this is the English Greyhound Derby which has a maximum payout, for Future Greyhounds bets, of £100,000.
- The maximum payout to any one customer in respect of bets on any single day's greyhound racing in the UK is £100,000 to the extent that such bets are covered by a "full service". Unless stated otherwise herein, bets on all Irish greyhound races and UK bets which are not covered by a 'full service' are subject to a maximum payout of £10,000.
- Paddy Power only accepts bets in respect of greyhound meetings which are displayed on its websites. The only exceptions to this rule are when prices are quoted over the phone and applied to a customer's account. Any bets inadvertently processed in respect of events which are not displayed on Paddy Power's website will be voided (regardless of the result).
Future Greyhounds Betting
- For the avoidance of doubt, Future Racing and Antepost bets refer to the same market type and either term may be used interchangeably.
- Unless stated otherwise in the remainder of this sub-section, Future Greyhounds bets are accepted on an all-in basis, whether a selection runs or not. Therefore, in the event of a non-runner, for whatever reason, all bets placed on an Future Greyhounds basis will stand.
- When the runners for an Future Greyhounds event are finally determined (generally, this will mean that the event has been whittled down to 6 runners), all bets placed after the Trap Draw for the Final is announced will revert to Non-Runner No Bet.
- All bets placed after the trap draw for a final has been announced will be settled at their starting price (i.e. SP) should any of the other finalists fail to take their place for whatever reason.
- Bets placed on a given greyhound after the trap draw for a final will be voided if that greyhound is withdrawn from the race (i.e. such bets will be settled on a "non-runner no bet" basis).
Each way Betting
- Each way betting on greyhound races will be settled as follows: (i) 8 runners = 1/5th of the full payout for first three finishers and (ii) 5-7 runners = ¼ of the full payout for the first two finishers. Where there are four runners or fewer in a greyhound race, we do not offer each way betting.
- Where the number of runners in a race is reduced to four (i.e. for a race in which five or more greyhounds were previously due to compete), any each way bets will be automatically converted to 'win only' bets.
Trap Challenge Bets
- A trap challenge bet is a bet placed on the most successful trap across a number of races.
- Where a trap challenge market offered by Paddy Power is described by reference to specified timeframes, the postponement of any races (such that they do not occur within those timeframes) will be disregarded. For example if a meeting is scheduled to run from 18:38 to 21:26 but the 21:26 race ends up taking place at 21:49 due to unforeseen circumstances, the postponed race will still form part of any trap challenge bets which are placed in respect of such meeting.
- Trap challenge bets are defined by reference to their scheduled off-times. Any race which occurs outside of those scheduled off-times will not be included within the relevant bet (save where the race in question occurs outside of the scheduled off-time due to postponement).
- Trap challenge results stand irrespective of vacant traps, reserves running or void races. No Rule 4 deductions will be applied to trap challenge markets.
- All trap challenge bets will stand if more than half of the specified races in the named trap challenge market take place. If half of the races or fewer take place, bets on the relevant trap challenge market will be voided.
- Trap Challenge markets are win only and are only available up until the first scheduled race.
- If two or more trap numbers record the same number of wins then our normal dead-heat rules will apply to applicable trap challenge markets.
- Should any individual race result in a dead heat for 1st place then all greyhounds concerned will be regarded as having won that race for trap challenge settlement purposes.
- Inside v Outside - In races where there are less than six runners, all Inside / Outside trap bets will be void.
- Inside v Outside - In the event of a Dead Heat all Inside / Outside trap bets will be void. Bets are only void if an inside trap dead heats with an outside trap. Should two inside traps dead heat ie. Trap 1 and Trap 2, then inside traps should be paid as a winner
Placepots/Placers
- Placepots and/or placer bets can be accepted via telephone only. Named runners will not be accepted, only trap numbers.
- Should a vacant trap replace a selected greyhound, any bet on that trap number will automatically be deemed to be a bet on the unnamed favourite. If, in such circumstances, there are joint-favourites for the race in question, the bet will automatically be deemed to be a bet on the joint-favourite with the lowest racecard number.
- In the event of a placepot / placer bet being accepted on a meeting where a dividend is not declared, all such placepot / placer bets will be deemed void (irrespective of the result).
Forecasts
- Forecast dividends are declared to a £1 stake and will be settled according to the BAGS industry forecast dividend.
- Where a forecast bet has been placed by a customer and one of the customer's selections becomes a vacant trap, the customer's bet will automatically be converted into a win single on the remaining selection (the odds for such win single to be the remaining greyhound's starting price).
- In the event that any number of greyhounds are involved in a dead-heat for either 1st or 2nd place then an industry dividend will be issued for both winning forecasts.
Tricasts
- Tricast dividends are declared to a £1 stake and will be settled according to the BAGS industry tricast dividend.
- If a tricast is accepted on a race where no tricast dividend is declared then any tricast bets will be settled as a forecast bets on the first two greyhounds appearing on the customer's bet slip.
- Where a tricast bet has been placed by a customer and one of the customer's selections becomes a vacant trap, the customer's bet will automatically be converted into a forecast bet on the remaining selections. If two of the customer's selections become vacant traps, the customer's bet will automatically be converted into a win single on the remaining selection (the odds for such win single to be the remaining greyhound's starting price).
- In the event that any number of greyhounds are involved in a dead heat for either 1st, 2nd or 3rd place then an industry dividend will be issued for each winning forecast.
- Tricasts are accepted as singles only. Multiples accepted in error will be deemed void (irrespective of the result).
Coursing
- All bets will be settled as per Irish Coursing Club (ICC) rules. In all circumstances, the judge's decision will be final.
- If a greyhound is withdrawn before coming under the slipper's control in the first round, bets placed on such greyhound will be deemed void.
- In the event of a final not being run for any reason, our dead heat rules will apply to all antepost bets.
